Rave to the grave: London’s top Halloween club nights

Forget trick-or-treating, jack-o-lanterns and apple bobbing…

With October 31 falling on a Friday this year, it’s safe to say that Halloween celebrations in London are going to raise hell. Forget trick-or-treating, jack-o-lanterns and apple bobbing, we’re talking bewitched warehouse parties and monster mega-raves.

The trouble is, every promoter in the capital likes to jump on the All Hallows hype and picking which fright-night to throw shapes at is not an easy task. We’ve saved you the hassle by selecting our top five Halloween club nights…

1. The Mexican Death Disco – iCan Studios, Hackney WickThe Mexican Death Disco

London promoters Tesselate, Percolate and Mad Ferret join forces on this journey into the Mexican afterlife in the depths of Hackney Wick.
Go loco with your amigos in four themed areas, all embracing the dark mysticism of El Dia De Los Muertos.
Bringing the noise is veteran Chicago house pioneer Chez Damier, Leeds/Paris duo Dungeon Meat, Dutch up-and-comer Frits Wentink, plus residents. Guests are asked to “Cover your face, think Mexican and bring a sparkler.”

Friday October 31, 22.00-06.00 @ iCan Studios, 35 Monier Road, Hackney Wick, E3 2PR

2. Black Butter Records Halloween Special – Village Underground, Shoreditch

BB Halloween2014 has been a monumental year for Black Butter Records, the label that launched the careers of bass music trailblazers Rudimental, Gorgon City, Clean Bandit, My Nu Leng, Kidnap Kid, Woz and many more.
Based on the strength of their previous success, it’s a given that this party is going to be off the scale. They’re keeping the lineup under wraps, but BB tell us it’s a monster, “packed full of your Black Butter favourites and some extra special extended family friends.” Grab your tickets ASAP – all of their previous London parties have sold out in advance.
