By Abul Ajak

Abul Ajak’s film Planting Seeds of Hope: The Story of Ishimwe Jonah follows a resident of Nakivale refugee camp, one of the oldest such camps in Uganda, whose refugee-led farming initiative funds an educational facility there.

Using income generated by his farm, Jonah supports the refugee community to exchange knowledge in a grassroots structure of education, foregrounding refugee voices in the labour of agriculture.
